Teen fatally shot in Keene, N.H., was from Mass., police say

A Massachusetts teenager was shot and killed in Keene, N.H. early Wednesday morning, New Hampshire authorities said.

Christian Walker, 17, of Orange, was identified as the victim in a statement Wednesday evening from New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella’s office.

The shooting is one of two unrelated suspicious deaths currently under investigation in New Hampshire, according to Formella’s office.

Walker was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen in a parking lot on Winchester Street, Formella’s office said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:49 a.m., prosecutors said.

An autopsy by the chief medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide, Formella’s office said.

“All parties involved have been identified and there is no known threat to the general public at this time,” the statement said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Separately, law enforcement is investigating a fatal crash in Pittsfield, where a man was struck by a car, possibly following an altercation, Formella’s office said.

The man was struck just before 11:40 p.m. by a car in the 440 blok of Tilton Hill Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.

Police are currently “looking into a confrontation reported at a nearby residence leading up to the incident,” the statement said.

The crash remains under investigation.

As in the Keene case, key parties have been identified and there is no threat to the general public, Formella’s office said. .
